Aubrey's wedding, flight delays are getting worse, and another dangerous logo redesign

Travel is chaotic as we face another day of the government shutdown, KPop Demon Hunters continue to smash records (and new content is on its way!), and I spent the weekend celebrating Aubs and Wood! Let’s get into it.

A government shutdown means more and more flight delays
Upcoming travel plans? Would recommend showing up to the airport as early as your dad always tells you to, because the ongoing government shutdown is majorly impacting airport chaos. TSA agents and air traffic controllers are technically essential workers — which means they have to come to work while the government is asleep, but they don’t get paid. So understandably, many are calling in “sick” and working side gigs on the days they’re supposed to be getting you to your destination. This means getting through security can take ages, and lots of flights are delayed and/or grounded, because you can’t really take off if there aren’t any air traffic controllers around to clear you (At Burbank airport, zero air traffic controllers showed up to work on Monday, so if you were flying out of Burbank…no you were not). If you are traveling by plane, definitely download at least an entire series ahead of time. You could be at the airport for a while!
KPop Demon Hunters 2 is en route
KPop Demon Hunters is the most-watched original movie in the history of Netflix, with a whopping 236 million views. Good news for fans: a sequel is coming, and is rumored to be a semi-prequel, which will provide more backstory for Zoey and Mira. Apparently a third movie is even probably happening? But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! BTW, KPop Demon Hunters Halloween costumes are going to be big this year. You still have time to order your purple wig!
You’d think they would have learned from Cracker Barrel…
Lay’s is rebranding to “look more wholesome,” and I’m already predicting this is not going to end well. The redesign will include a new sun-forward logo and images of potatoes, because apparently 42% of Lay’s consumers don’t know that Lay’s are made from potatoes. They’re…called…potato chips…okay whatever. Lay’s will also be removing artificial colors and flavors, and they promise the flavor will be indistinguishable. I’ll believe it when I taste it!

My high school bestie Aubrey (I trust you follow her???) got married this weekend, and it was electric! 6 of us 8 bridesmaids are high school friends, and 3 of us (including the bride) are content creators. Needless to say we were all over the content creation journey, and you should definitely follow along. Our dresses are Birdie Gray, which makes sizes XS to 3X in tons of colors and styles. If you want to cry, watch her brothers walk her down the aisle. (BTW: Vic and I handled all her wedding content. She was off her phone the entire weekend. Perk of having content creator friends!).
I’ve had a lot of practice this year in mastering the “oh my engagement ring??” wedding guest pose

It took me way too many years to realize that you can just wear a long dress and add a belt and everyone thinks you put effort into your appearance. It’s actually easier than jeans. It’s arguably more comfortable too. This Topshop dress (which I got a lot of questions about on Instagram this past weekend) is unfortunately sold out, but I’ve linked a similar option!

You don’t need to be super technical to automate your life (trust me, I am NOT super technical) — you just need the right tool to do it for you. And I’m loving Zapier for this, which lets you set up an “if this, then that” workflow between basically any tools you already use.
I’m currently using Zapier to help me seem prepared for meetings even when I hardly have enough time between calls to stand up and grab a glass of water (let alone actually prep). Here’s how I do it: set up a Zap that connects Calendly → Claude → Slack. Every time someone books a new meeting, Zapier puts together context and an overview and sends you a Slack summary. No more double-checking your calendar or showing up thinking you’re talking to Jeff from IT and it’s actually Jeff, the CEO of the company you’re trying to get a job at (true story, this did happen to me).
Zapier connects the tools you already use (nearly 8,000 of them!!), running tasks in the background so you can stop doing the boring parts of your job (and start looking like the most organized person on your team). And as we know, working smarter is lazy in the best way!
Try it out for free here. Using Zapier’s new Copilot feature, you can literally just describe the exact workflow you’re trying to automate and Zapier will set it up for you!!
