Buying a house with your bestie and Americans are all moving to Europe
Plus: newly minted millionaires want prenups; here's why
Gen Z is all about co-homeownership with BFFs, Ireland is apparently way doper than America, and I missed out on a whole weekend of my life.
Let’s get into it.

Would you buy a house with your bestie?
Not that living with friends is a new concept, but pals are starting to buy homes together with more and more frequency, which I’m very into! We all know the cost of homeownership is increasingly outlandish, which is part of the reason about 1/3 of Gen Z is open to buying a home with a bestie. Millennials are a little less open to it, with 18% saying they’d consider it.
Americans are leaving in record numbers
Apparently, 40% of American women between 15 and 44 say they want to leave the country. And in 2025 (for the first time since literally the Great Depression), more people moved out of America than in. They’re largely heading to Europe (Portugal and Ireland have gained a bunch of American citizens), thanks to a lower cost of living, social safety nets, and (obviously) the lifestyle. Hmm. I’m not not open to it?
AI wealth is creating personal fortunes; prenups abound
The AI boom is minting new millionaires, and apparently it's also reshaping how people handle their finances in relationships. A recent survey found that nearly 25% of people said higher AI-era compensation had changed how they split expenses with a partner, and about 9% said it made them rethink prenups entirely. With OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX potentially going public, we should expect over 16,000 new millionaires from those listings alone. And lots of them are at marrying age. Is it too late for me to become a prenup lawyer??

This past weekend was extremely humbling. It’s almost like all this back-to-back travel and non-stop work made me more susceptible to whatever sickness is going around? Definitely will not be learning from this or changing my ways! I’m sparing you images of me chasing Sudafed with soup from my couch. Brunch on Sunday was my first outing of the weekend, and I was noooot feeling myself.

You ever just want to feel like you’re wearing a spa robe, but you know that would be super inappropriate at work? Try a wrap jacket! Since I wouldn’t recommend you go pants-less, perhaps try a pair of wide-leg cords that match the blanket on my bed. They also come in black. Banana Republic is soooo slept on!

Spring has this sneaky way of going from "nothing on the calendar" to "I have something every single weekend" in about 72 hours. Weddings, birthdays, showers, outdoor events, work offsites…the social season does not ease you in. So before everything becomes a blur, here are a few low-effort ways to prep.
Do a quick calendar scan for April and May. Look for anything that needs an outfit, a gift, travel, or a plus-one conversation.
Start a running gift list. Birthdays, showers, and housewarmings cluster in spring, and buying a thoughtful gift in advance always beats panic-buying the night before.
Book anything with a waitlist. Blowouts, facials, hair appointments, etc. all fill up fast once the events start stacking. If you know you have something in April, book it now so you don’t have to take the 8pm slot!
