Working Girl's Guide #42: Lululemon Slips, Musk Goes Spicy & White Jeans in March

Plus, Walmart’s $34M Mall Bet, My Aspen Weekend, Inbox Sanity, and White Jeans in March.

Lululemon’s feeling the heat, Musk’s AI is getting spicy, and Walmart is making moves on dead malls. Meanwhile, I spent the weekend in Aspen (yes, it’s as extra as it sounds), manifested spring with white jeans, and sat down with my childhood bestie Victoria for a deep dive on confidence, business, and mental health. Let’s get into it.

Lululemon's growth hits a snag as competition heats up

Lululemon is faced its slowest quarterly growth in over four years in Q4 of 2024, with revenue expected to rise nearly 7% to $2.36 billion, compared to a nearly 19% jump in the same period a year ago. Analysts attribute this slowdown to increased competition from “athleisure upstarts.” The Canada-based maker of high-end yoga pants, joggers and sweatshirts, is losing ground to brands such as Alo Yoga and Vuori.

Elon Musk’s Grok 3 AI Pushes Boundaries with Risqué Personality Options

Elon Musk's company xAI launched Grok 3, an AI chatbot that offers more risqué and adult-oriented answers compared to its competitors. The chatbot includes voice personalities such as "romantic," "sexy," and "unhinged" - the latter two are labeled "18+". This move by Musk aims to differentiate Grok from rivals like OpenAI and attract more users (like men struggling on Hinge).

Walmart's $34 Million Bet: Transforming Dead Malls into Shopper Paradises

Walmart just dropped $34 million on a struggling Pittsburgh mall, aiming to revitalize it into a bustling shopping hub. Experts suggest the retail giant plans to incorporate gyms, entertainment venues, and trendy eateries to lure back shoppers. As traditional malls face extinction, could this be the blueprint for retail resurrection?

This weekend I went to Aspen with 12 friends (and bae). If you haven't been to Aspen, it's like nothing I've ever seen. People wear fur coats to yoga class, the après on the mountain includes spraying people with champagne (Cloud 9 is absolutely insane), and the food is INCREDIBLE. I could make a whole video about Aspen culture but for now, you can enjoy this pic of me and bae.

Ski goggles and backwards hat are a vibe

Comfy spring outfits! Let’s GO! I can’t believe I’m wearing white jeans in March, but here we are, manifesting warmer days with my outfit choices. P.S. I think I wear this top at least 4+ times a week—no shame. One of my best purchases ever, and I refuse to gatekeep. Now let’s see how long I can keep these jeans clean…

Woke up and chose denim

Your inbox will never be at zero, and that’s fine. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s control. Instead of drowning in emails, try the 2-minute rule: if it takes less than two minutes to reply, do it immediately. For everything else? Mark it unread or snooze it for later.

Prioritize Smart: Set up VIP filters so only important emails hit your notifications (add Working Girls Guide and nothing else)

Use an ‘Almost Spam’ Folder: Promo emails, order confirmations, and random updates? Auto-filter them into a separate folder so they don’t clog your inbox.

Batch Your Emails: Instead of checking constantly, set dedicated times to go through emails—once in the morning, once in the afternoon. No more all-day distractions.

Turn Off Notifications: Unless you’re in customer service, you don’t need to see every email the second it lands. Check on your terms.

Use Templates: If you send the same type of email often, save it as a template to copy, paste, and move on.

Inbox zero might be a myth, but inbox sanity? Totally achievable. With a few small tweaks, you’ll spend way less time stuck in emails—and way more time doing literally anything else. Like listening to my recent pod ⤵️
