Working Girl's Guide #64: Paltrow speaks on Astronomer and I'm wearing polka dots

Also: health-conscious beverages keep on raking it in, and I've been partying with my future in-laws

I’m back after consuming my weight in croissants and Paltrow has traded wellness for data workflow automation.

Let’s get into it.

The Tea app set to make dating safer, and now female users’ private info is everywhere

The app Tea skyrocketed to the top of the app store this week right before a crazy big data leak. The app lets women publish anonymous reviews of men they’ve dated; part of the signup process includes taking a picture of a government-issued ID. Well, a bunch of users’ IDs (including their home addresses) went public, along with some of the messages they’d written about men. Making dating safer is hypothetically a good idea, but oh my god did this backfire. Would definitely stay far, far away from this app!

Gwyneth Paltrow is really into data workflow automation

Are you as obsessed with the Astronomer situation as I am? ICYMI, the CEO of enterprise software company Astronomer was caught on a kiss cam at a Coldplay concert slow dancing with none other than his head of HR. He resigned pretty immediately, his (soon-to-be ex?) wife released a scathing, super impressive statement, and now the company has hired Paltrow, the ex-wife of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, to answer common qs about the company (not the affair). Pretty genius.

2025 is the year of the high-impact beverage company

Health-ade kombucha (personal fave of mine) just sold for $500 million; at the time of writing, we’re not sure yet to who. This comes just a few months after prebiotic soda brand Poppi sold for $2 billion to PepsiCo. So if you have an idea for a health-conscious beverage company, now’s your time to go all in!

Let’s play two truths and a lie:

  1. I partied three days in a row at Saint-Tropez day clubs with my future in-laws

  2. I ate no less than 50 croissants during my one-week trip

  3. I will definitely be flying Air France again, because they’re great at not losing my luggage!

The good news is that my future in-laws absolutely rock and conveniently like croissants as much as I do. The bad news is that after Air France lost my carefully planned outfits (luggage was MIA for 3 days), they canceled our flight from Nice to Paris, so 8 of us had to take a 6-hour train. And THEN because my reservation was tied to the cancelled flight, I wasn’t able to access WiFi for the entire 10-hour flight home. If you can hear me rage-typing through your screen right now, I am.

The trip was incredible, and possibly worth the hassle, but I am still a bit bitter. Have any travel woes with Air France (or maybe positive memories)? Respond to this email, I need to hear!

Don’t mind me wielding this fan in the office this week

I’m avoiding the post-baguette blues by wearing polka dots every single day (luckily I do have my luggage back now, which is a huge relief because I would be lost without this super versatile Ref top!). Long skirts are SO IN, and I love a fun print to make an office fit feel a little more ~me~. Linked two almost identical skirt options because one is a bit on the pricier side. Could also pair this combo with black ballet flats and a cute black sweater for when the AC is blasting in the office, because it always is.

Why yes I always wear sunglasses inside, why do you ask?

I hired a stylist for my France trip, which was more affordable than I thought it would be, and which I might also be doing for day-to-day. So this week’s lazy girl hack: outsourcing your fits for a trip (or life)! As busy working gals, it can be super hard to find the time to prep for a trip, and even if you do manage to get to itinerary planning after a day of work responsibilities, chances are you will not have time to outfit plan, too. If you liked any of my outfits from my trip, you’ll love Liza Paige of @lizapaigewears. She offers expert shopping services and personalized styling and wardrobe edits, and is especially good at intuiting your vibe and helping you dress for your body. You can DM her if you’re interested in learning more (tell her Natalie sent you!).

There are a bunch of AI stylist options, too, if you’re not down to hire a real person. I’ve heard good things on StyleDNA, but honestly Claude isn’t too bad either. If you upload a pic, you can prompt it to tell you your best colors and shapes, which is a great start!

Another idea: find a microcreator with a ShopMy and DM them. A surprising number of up-and-coming creators will curate lists for you for free if you agree to purchase using their affiliate links — randomly came across Courtney who loves shopping for strangers!

This week on the pod, we’re joined by Sahil Bloom, investor, content creator, and author, for a conversation about designing a life that feels good. We talk about why chasing money alone so often leads to burnout, how to audit your time and energy, and why our definition of “success” might be quietly ruining our lives (humbling, my man). Sahil breaks down the five types of wealth, shares tips for reclaiming your health and relationships, and makes a strong case for journaling as the most underrated life upgrade. We also get into what it means to redefine ambition and whether the Tech Sales Millionaire Dream still holds up. Listen here!

Highly recommend his book!
